Tho operation was a dlfllcult one and
under the circumstances the patient
1b doing very nicely. He was feeling
better yesterday afternoon than at any
time since the operation was performed
and the physicians aro vory hopeful.
Senior Girls Chose Gowns
The Senior girls met in U. 210 yes
terday and decided on the caps and
gowns to be worn by them. The cap
and gown of last year was adopted. AH
orders must be in by the end of next
week. The grade of the material of the
gown is optional. The girls expect to
appear in their class attire for the
first time on the Friday before Char
ter day. It is urged that the orders be
sent in without delay. The members of
the committee in charge are: Misses
Brown, Walling, and Woodford.
Junior Girls' Team
The Juniors, who very nearly won
the pennant last year, enter the tour
nament next Friday with a stronger
team than ever, and are conceded by
tho other three classes to bo danger
ous rivals. All the members of this
team learned the game In the Univer
sity of Nebraska, and all have had at
least a season of experience. Two of
the players. Miss Scott, captain and
guard, and MIbb Craig, forward, were
elected this fall to the varsity team.
The others on the team are Miss Emma
8hlnbur. forward; Miss Nella Schies
inger and Miss Harriett Mitchell, cen
ters; Miss Margaret McCutrheon,
guard. Miss Mitchell makes her debut
Friday night as the successor of Miss
Amy Conger, who is not now in school.
Miss Mary Meeker is the Junior substi
tute. The class has reserved a section of
seats, for the team supporters, and Jins
appointed a leader to direct Uie en
thusiasm. The Junior girls are to have
the sympathy and support of their
classmates, either in victory or defeat.
Delta Upsilon Banquet
The fifth annual banquet of Delta
Upsilon was held at the chapter house
Tuesday evening, immediately preceded
by Initiation. Covers were laid for
forty. A number of out of town men
were present. The toasts were as fol
