Last semester Captain Smoke issued
an order to the effect that if any
private in the companies should win
out In a "spelldown" over other
privates on stated occasions that
private would be promoted. The same
was to apply to non-commissioned of
ficers. These orders have been car
ried out to the letter. Three of the
non-coms who have won out were
men from company C, and one from
company 13.
