on "New Myodites," a parasitic beetle,
which Inhabits the nests of wild bees.
Dr. Condra went to Falls City Fri
day at 1:30 p. m. to make observa
tions, and to take photographs for tho
geological department. He will go to
Kansas before ho returns to the uni
versity. Beta Theta Pi entertained ton of
the Knox Betas at a smoker Saturday
evening. J. R. Pierce of Omaha, and
George Fitch of Council Bluffs, alumni
of the Knox chapter, came down to
greet their old college friends.
Dr. Guyer, a former graduate and
also professor in the department of
zoology, and recently professor at the
head of zoology in the University of
Cincinnati, was appointed at the head
of a party to collect specimens In the
Philippine Islands.
Superintendent Fowler has received
an Invitation from the board of edu
cation at Philadelphia to be present
on November 22d at tho dedication of
the new central high school which has
recently been completed. The program
for the dedicational ceremonies Indi
cates that President Roosevelt will de
liver an address at the opening session.
A memorial window presented by the
family of Edward T. Stell, who was for
many years president of the board of
education will be formally accepted.
N. A. Wilson, cashier of the Farmers'
and Merchants' bank, of Stromsburg,
attended the Knox-Nebraska game Sat
urday. Mr. Wilson Is a football en
thusiast. He is manager of the Stroms
burg eleven, and is justly proud of its
record. They have played York Col
lege, Hastings College, David City and
several other teams, and have won
every game easily without having a
point Bcored against them this season.
They will play tho Genoa Indians on
Thanksgiving. Mr. WilBon looks for
a fierce game, but says his boys will
win.
