The Historical society has just re ceived from Plattsmoutb the Searle collection of Philippine curiosities. This is one of the most valuable collec tions In the state, and the society con siders itself fortunate In securing it. Mr. G. H. Graham, principal of the schools at Papilllon, Neb., has recent ly presented to the Latin department, plaster reproductions of two old Latin Inscriptions, now kept at Cornell University. The stones from which they were made were brought from Italy several yearB ago, by Pro fessor Hale when he was at Cornell.
