ciety, which holds its annual meeting
next January, is busily engaged in ar
ranging tho program for the session.
Last year tho general topic was about
"Early Railroads in Nebraska." This
year the papers will relate for' tho most
part to the "Old Steamboat Traffic on
the Mississippi." Correspondence with
several old twln-rlver captains is being
carried on, and It is likely that the
committee will be able to Induce some
of thorn to come and relate some of
their old experiences.
A now book bearing the title of "A
First Book of Forestry, ' has been sent
to Professor Bessey for review. It Is by
one of the professors of forestry in
Cornell University, Professor FHlbert
Roth, a gentleman who has had much
experience In government work.
