The annual banquet of company A
has been postponed until after the en
campment. Fred C. Williams, '00. has been elect
ed principal of the Seward high school
for the coming year.
Barbara Burt, '00, has accepted a
position in her home high school at
Superior for next year.
Prof. George E. Howard is In the
city and will remain here until July,
with the exception of a short absence.
Vivian Strickland has accepted the
position of assistant principal in his
home school at Geneva for next year.
Amos T. Hutchinson, '00, has been
re-elected principal of the Albion high
school for the coming year at an In
crease of salary.
The Plattsmouth high school takes
all of its high school teachers except
the principal from the university. Next
year Miss Powell will teach mathe
matics; Miss Sprung, Latin and Ger
man; Miss Montgomery, science, and
Miss Wirt, history and English.

MIbb Stringer was called home to
Wayne Friday evening by the serious
Illness of uer mother, who has been In
poor health this spring.
Notre Dame defeated Knox Satur
day by a score of 6 to 6. Ames lost
to Qrinnell by a score of 13 to 3. Iowa
went down before Purdue to the tune
of 5 to 2.
Miss Nettle Henry, '00, has been
elected principal of the high school at
Geneva for next year. Miss Henry
taught in Geneva two years ago. Her
recall to the princlpalshlp is a tribute
to her abilities and success as a teach
er. Will Raymond and Earl McCreery,
graduates of the university and mem
bers of Phi Delta Theta have been in
attendance at the convention of the
northwest province of that fraternity
held at Madison, Wis., from last Thurs
day until today. They represent the
Nebraska Alpha chapter. Mr. Ray
mond is president of the Zeta province.
Miss Adnelle Cady served 12 o'clock
course dinner in the domestic science
department Saturday to a few friends.
The affair was one of a series given
by the young ladies in that branch
throughout the year. White roses
were used as decorations with pretty
effect. Those present were Miss Clare
Mack In, Miss Beth Marshall, A. Kim
ball Barnes and Norris Huse.
The faculty women's club will meet
at the university farm Wednesday
afternoon, May 21. All members of
the faculty are Invited to join the
gathering at any time between 3 and
5 o'clock. Carriages will meet the
street cars at Holdrege' and Twenty
seventh streets after 8 p.' m. The
ladles are each expected to bring a
basket containing sandwiches for two.
