are taking a great amount of interest
in their practice and an unusually good
exhibition will most likely be the result.
The class in field Ceology, had a very
interesting trip last Saturday. Mount
ed on wheels the members first visited
the outcrop of Dakota sandstone, at
Twenty-seventh and A streets. From
there they went to tne A street well,
then to the cave, near the penitentiary,
and from there to the large brick fac
tory several miles southwest of town.
Pictures were taken at the various
places visited.
The draughting room of the de
partment If civil engineering has
received a new addition to Its
decorations In the snape of a
magnificent picture of the famous
Horseshoe Curve on the Pennsylvania
Railroad, The picture, which was re
ceived through the kindness of the
general passenger agent, Mr. James R.
Wood, measures three by five feet, and
is In a fine oak frame. It will make a
most valuable addition to the collection
of railroad pictures which hangs on
the walls of the draughting room.
The commencement exercises of the
Omaha Medical College were held yes
terday afternoon at Boyd theatre. In
the evening a reception was held at
the Millard hotel at which the fol
lowing toasts were given:
