The main building of Montana uni
versity, at Missoula, was destroyed by
fire Friday The loss will be consider
able because of the equipment. The
building was devoted especially to
science and was alucd at $ ion, 000.
Through the kindness of E A. Fry,
editor of the lsiobrara Pioneer, the
historical society has received a partial
ille of that paper. The numbers run
as far Lack as 1871. These old files
are of particular interest to historical
students, since the cover the period
of the Hlac k Hills excitement, t he
Sioux -war of 187G, the high water of
1881 and other interesting events.
It is rumored in daily papers that
there is a possibility that the state uni
versity of Iowa will be moved from
Iowa City because that city refuses to
glvo the support which some of those
in control of the nchool feel it ought
(0 give. ' There seems to be a laok of
interest in Iowa City in the university
and the authorities do not feel that
the city Is giving enough return for
tho advantages which the college
brings to the city.

"Tumble Weeds."
y
4 4Hpumble Weeds" is a collection of original poems
by Will Reed Dunroy, the author or "Corn
Tassels." While some of these poems have special
reference to western life, most of them are upon
themes as broad as humanity, and they give evi
dence of an unusual degree of poetic talent in the
author W. J. Bryan, in the Commoner.
