Sheldon returned yesterday from a trip to Niobrara, where he went for the historical society. He brought back with him various photographs of historical scenes around Niobrara, which is a country particularly rich In historical relics. He also procured for the Nebraska historical exhibit at the St. Louis exposition an eight-pound cannon winch was abandoned by H. G. Harney in 1M0, and was subsequently used at the Ponca Indian agency in fighting the Sioux Indians. It is now the property of William La Mont, the oldest stater at Niobrara. Mr. bhel don also brought back numerous In dian relics and photographs taken by himself of the junction of the Nio brara and Missouri rivers, where the Lewis and Clark expedition landed in 1804. W.
