COLLEGE WORK COMES FIRST.
It is feared that tho Mask and
Wig, tho combined musical clubs,
and other non-athletic societies of
the University of Pennsylvania, will
suffer ccsiderably owing to the
vigorous inspection of tho member
ship and tho rigid enforcement of
the rule that no student is allowed
to take part In any event with more
than ono condition recorded against
him. This, of course, includes all
men who have beon "dropped"' Into a
lower class, and is enforced against
them until they regain their scholas
tic standing. Over a hundred men
have applied for tho Mask and Wig,
and tho combined musical cluos have
a membership or over sixty, this
year, somo of whom have already
been declared ineligible."

scrutinized, and no student is now per
mitted to appoar unless ho first re
ceives tho sanction of the University
Committee on events other than
athletics.
