Harrison, Jr., and is -the fourth tent
out by the University of Pennsylvania
in the lust few years, tho three former
ores having been macio to Borneo aud
many other islands of tho Eat Indies.
Tho specimens collected on all of
these oxplorations have been deposited
I i the University Musoum. They are
kho only collections of tho kind in ex'i6
tonoo and aro conbi lered of great valuo
to ethnologists. Tho explorers Bent
out on these expeditions have paid par
ticular attention to the aborigines of
tho Malay Islands and have obtained
magnificent cjlloetions of relics illus
trative of thojr early lifo and habits.
Mr. Harrison, who is a nophow of the
Provost of the University, has accom
panied all four of the expeditions. He
has givou his life to the work aud ex
pects to make another trip soon.
The collection gathered on tho last
expedition consists of birds, fauna and
other ethnological wnd anthropological
pecimons, part of which will be pre
sented to the Academy of Natural
Sciences, and part to the University of
Pennsylvania.
