J not how true It Is remains to be seen. Members of the Daily Nebraska n staff" ate requested to call at the office 1.14 No. llth st. between 1 and 2 o clock each day for assignments. Kvory member of the student body should be at the Northwestern depot at 1 : 4f this afternoon to Rive the team a fitting send-off. Every one should go armed with a megaphone and a streamer of University colors. The nuihs meeting in chapel this morning should be attended by every body. The aisles should be full. The team should be welcomed and blessed m a way they will not forget in a day -a blessing that will spur them to su pi 1 human effort on the gridiron next Saturday. The students who will remain In Lincoln over Saturday may learn of all the interesting features of the big game by watching the Daily Nebras kan bulletins. They will be posted on the campus and In the show win dow of Kwlng's Clothing Store. The low rate made by the railroads has put the Minnesota trip within the reach of every student and every one should avail himself Qf this op portunity of visiting a sister institu tion and of seeing one of the biggest football games to be played in the west this season. The proximity of the big game has worked the student body up to a fever heat. Under the conditions as they exist now a student cannot give the amount of time required to the preparation for the trip, football ral- lies, etc.", and at the same time devote the usual amount of time to his stu dies. Instructors ought to bear this In, mind in assigning lessons. The stu dents are supporting the team well. The faculty should help them by lightening their school work for a day or two. The value to the University of a ictory next Saturday would eas ily recompense for a little loss In Rchool work. Elsewhere In this Issue we present a clipping from the Minnesota Daily regarding a certain Lincoln corre spondent to the Minneapolis Journal. The extract says- "Puffed up with the vanity and filled with a large sense of the great Importance of a team which Is yet In Its embryonic stage this writer, whoever he may be, is be coming distressingly sickening to those who have seen high class foot bail." I'eihaps "embryonic" Is a suitable adjective to describe the Nebraska football team. If it Is, will the Min nesotans suggest an adjective to de scribe a team which permitted eleven "embryos" to push them across the gildlion twice for touch-downs. I'eihaps the people of Lincoln were not peimltted to see "high class" foot ball last Thanksgiving, but they cer tainly did see the best game of ball the team of (lopher giants were able to put up. The Nebraska team may have been "unheard of" before the Minnesota game last year, but its rec ord In that game won it the recogni tion it deserved and which it has since been generally accorded. The article In question Is headed "Lincoln Vanity." Perhaps a change In the location of that trait of char acter would more nearly fit the case. We're going to Minnesota In the morn. morn, morn; And we'll tear "em up as surely As you're born, born, born. We will smash 'em thro' the center, Or the end, end end, Tbo' they do their very "darndest" To defend fend fend. And we'll rip 'em up the middle Of the back, back, back. And you'll hear that bell go clanging With a clack, clack, clack. For the stuff we've got to do it Fills the bill, bill, bill; And we'll doctor them a-plonty With a "Pill." "Pill," "Pill." We will paint old Minnesota 'Till she's red, red, red; And lay away their pfttngeis In out ShtfdtL ShetWrluMld. And shortly on the coming Of our 1 1 am, 1 1 a in, train. Their spli it.s all will dwindle Through our Diain, Diain, Drain. And their end-runs will be ended Very short, short, short. For it will not do to monkey With our "Cort," "Cort," "Cort." And we'll put It on them gently With a rub, rub, rub. When we puncture their big sponges With our "Stubb," "Stubb," "SUibb." And very soon the battle Will be won, won, won. We'll wear the scalp of every son- ol-A-gun gun gun. Ira Kellogg. Hinder Funke, Will Slzer, of Lincoln, and Dallas Denier of Elmwood, Neb., were initiated into Sigma Alpha Epsi lon last evening. A banquet was held at the chapter house afterwards. The local chapter of Delta Delta Delta has Just recelvpd a letter from the Minnesota chapter of that soror ity offering tile hospitality of their chapter house during the Nebraskans' stay In Minneapolis. It is probable that the local chapter will attend the game In a body. Clothing Cleaned or Dyed At MANN'S, 1322 0 Street DR. J. J. DAVIS, GRADUATE OPTICIAN I'ye Fxamlned Free.
