First Christian church will give n re
ception to new Btudents on TueBday
evening at the church parlors corner
12th and M sts., In the Salisbury block.
There will be music and light refresh
ments. All are cordially ' Invited.
There will be an organ recital In
the chapel Friday evening, September
27, at 80'clock. J. 15. Butler of Trin
ity Cathedral. Omaha, will play. Miss
Bessie Turner will also render sev
eral solos.
Captain McComb desires to meet the
track team men Monday, Wednesdays
and Fridays at the gymnasium.
Those Interested in the organization
of a University Mandolin club are re
quested to meet at the School of Music
Thursday evening at 7:30. The or
ganization of a club will be perfected.
Bath hours at the Gymnasium have
been established as follows: The
morning hours will be given over to
gymnasium classes. In the afternoon
the baths will be open to all students
fiom two to half past six o'clock.
A reception will be given for stu
dents at the First Baptist church, cor
ner of 14th and K sts., Friday evening,
September 27. Dr. Rowlands, who has
been In Palestine for some time time,
will be present and will tell of his
tilp. All students are cordially in-
ited to attend.

THE DAILY PRIZE COMPETITION.
The prize offered to solicitors by the

THE CONDITIONS.
The conditions of the competition
are as follows:
1. The number of subscriptions giv
en are for a year. Two semester sub
scriptions equal one yearly subscrip
tion. 2. One-third of the subscriptions
must be iu cash.

o'clock p. ni., Tuesday, October 8.

Buffalo and return with $2.00 per day
for Ave days and, admission to the
grounds.
For 70 subscriptions, a ladles' or gen
tleman's. Jilcycle valued at $40.
For GO subscriptions, a Marlin re
peating rifle aud leather case, retail
price, $21.40.
For 40 subscriptions, a free trip to
Minnesota and return with expenses.
For 26 subscriptions, a free trip to
Omaha and. return to see the game
with the Omaha Medics.
For 10 subscriptions, n Waterman
fountain pen, price $2.60.
For C subscriptions, a yearly sub
scription to the Dally Nebraskan.
