The board of supervisors met In ad journed session at 2 o'clock p. ni Hon. J F. Schure. chairman, and John Graf, clerk. Roll called and following members present: Supervisors Clother. Goetz. Peterson. Pollard. Schwarz. Smith, and Chairman Schure. The county board of Polk county. Nebraska, being present it was moved by Supervisor Goetz. that the rules of the order of business be suspended and e reading of tne minutes deferred. Motion carried. The commissioners of Polk county nPwtook a seat with the supervisors of Platte county. Chairman Schure now stated that the object of the joint session is to con sult relative to the building of the bridge across the Platte river at Dun can In Butler township. After a lengthy consultation the following- resolution was offered by Su pervisor Schwarz: Be it Resolved. By the board of county supervisors of Platte county. Nebraska, that we enter into a joint contract with the board of countv com missioners of Polk county. Nebraska, for the erection of a wagon bridge over the Platte near the town of Dun can. In the county of Platte. Nebraska, and that the county of Platte. Ne braska, will contribute $1,500.00 to ward the election of said bridge out pf the county bridge fund on hand be longing to Butler township, in Platte county. Nebraska, and Polk county. On motion of Supervisor Goetz same was taken under advisement. The following was presented: To the Hon. Board of Supervisors of Platte County. Nebraska: Gentlemen: I hereby report that on the 4th day of January. 1909. there was filed with me the petition of An ton Dohnien and others for the vaca tion of a public road commencing CO rods north and 33' feet west of the southeast corner of section 1, town ship 20. range 3 west, of the sixth p. m. and running thenec west 2 rods: thence north 40 rods: thence east 2 rods to a public road running north and south on the section line and there terminating. On Januarv 15. 1909. I appointed Herman Sand a special commissioner to view and report upon the expedi encv of the vacation of the said road. On February 11. 1909. said special commissioner filed his report recom mending the granting of the prayer of the said petition. I then caused notice to be published in the Humphrey Democrat, all claims for damages and objections thereto caused bv the said vacation thereof, to be filed in the clerk's office on or before noon May 1. 1909. No objections to the vacation of said road or claims for damages have been filed and I herewith submit all papers in connection therewith' for your consideration. Respectfully submitted. The remonstrance of Daniel Mur dock and 38 others against the loca tion of a public road petitioned for by Fred Schupbach and others, com mencing at the southwest corner of section 11. township 17. range 2 west, and running thence due east one mile on the section line, was presented and read and. on motion, referred to the committee on roads and bridges. All bills and official bonds on file with the clerk were, on motion, re ferred to appropriate committees. Moved by Supervisor Goetz that the board of supervisors now adjourn un til Friday. The following resolution was sub mitted by Supervisor Pollard: Whereas, an action was taken by this board on April 27. 1907. instruct ing the county treasurer to cancel cer tain delinquent taxes for the years 1881 and 1882 for certain described lands in section 1. township 18. range 4 west, and Whereas. By reason of oversight or otherwise said order has not been ex ecuted: therefore, be it Resolved. By the board of supervis ors that our clerk hereby is instructed to furnish a copy of the aforesaid ac tion to the county treasurer for the cancellation of said delinquent taxes as provided in said resolution. On motion same was adopted. County Surveyor Rossiter submitted the survev of the "Thomazin road in Joliet township, the "Shallenberger road" in Woodville township and the "Iwan road" in Loup township, which were, on motion, approved by the board. The following report was submitted: Your committee on roads and bridges to whom was referred the pe tition of Anton Dohmen and others for the vacation of a public road, com mencing 60 rods north and 33 feet west of the southeast corner of sec tion 1, township 20. range 3 west, and running thence west 2 rods; thence north 40 rods: thence east 2 rods to the public road running north and sauth on the section line and there terminating, together with the special commissioner's report and all papers in connection therewith on the said va cation, would report, that upon due in vestigation we find that all provisions of the law for the vacation of public roads have been coinDlied with. The following report was submitted: We. your committee on roads and bridges, to whom was referred the pe tition of Fred Schupbach and others for the location of the within de scribed road, also the remonstrance of Daniel Murdock and others againts the said proposed road, alter careiuiiy examining said petition and remon strance, would recommend that, owing to the fact that six of the signers who originally signed said petition after wards signed said remonstrance, leav ing the-original petition without the requisite number of signers required by law, and finding that said remon strance is signed by thirty-nine elec tors who would necessarily need said road were it a public necessity, there fore recommend that the petition for said location of said road be denied and the prayer of the remonstrators be granted.
