M. Root, a special demonstrator, to prove the good qualities of Bromangelon, a new sort of "jello." Hundreds of people were at tracted to the store by the liberal news paper advertising secured by Mr.Ragatz and Miss Root proved herself an expert demonstrator. Plans are under way for a steel bridge across the Loup river at Monroe. The township boards of Loup, Monroe and Lost Creek townships are preparing for a special election in the near future for the purpose of submitting to the voters of the three townships the proposition of voting 915,000 bonds to build the bridge. The date for the election has not yet been fixed and it is too early yet to predict the sentiment of tbe tax-payers interested in the proposition. Super visor A. E. Priest of Monroe is active in nrging the plan. The Union Pacific Railroad company has just issued a pamphlet on Utah, its population, industries, opportunities, climate, etc. Utah will be greatly bene fited by this publication as it has been by the editions of the past years. The pamphlet will be circulated over the entire country by the representatives of the system and any request for it will be cheerfully filled. The book compiled from the latest reports, contains 107 pages. It deals with every line of in dustry of the state. A large portion of the book is taken up by statistical tables, bearing npon mining, agricul ture, stock raising, climate, population, etc. Each county of the state is given considerable space in tbe publication. It may be true that lightning never strikes twice in the same place, but it seldom happens that tbe same bolt of lightning strikes in twenty-five places at the same time as it did last Sunday night when it struck and killed twenty five cattle for Tom Lynch all at one time. The cattle were in a pasture south of the Loup and were bunched to gether for protection against the heavy hail storm. After the storm they were all found dead as a result of the electric shock which had been communicated from one to another. Mr. Lynch lives in Shell Creek township. Since the above was written the Journal learns that only eight of the cattle belonged to Mr. Lynch. Twelve of them belonged to John Grossnicklaus and three to Pat Gleason. Lynch's cattle were insured about thirty days ago. Dr. J. W. Terry OP OMAHA EYE SPECIALIST EXPERT OPTICIAN Best Eqaippeci Optical Offices la The West in the front rooms over Pollock & Go.
