NEW TELEPHONE LINE. A new ' line has been added to the Independ ent telephone system, this one being connected with the south line, start ing between the rivers and extending west to the Duncan neighborhood. Not many phones have been connected yet but workmen are busy today and will soon have many of the farmers in position to talk with the many patrons of the Independent company. DEBATE. Schuvler has a similar societv. STAB P.OUTE. Star route, which accemmodates farmers north and east of Columbus, wili be discontinued December 1 A. L Davies is the carrier, and has not vet decided what occupation ha will pursue. The Star route patrons will be absorbed by the Richland rente, No. 1 of Columbus and No. 1 of Creston. This change will leave some of the patrons of star route a distance of two miles from their mail boxes. The Richland and (Jres- ton routes will be new lines started December I. This will leave Colum bus with one less rural route, Beards ley, Benson, Beed and Hall carrying the mail en the other lines. POTATO OBOP. B. T. Lisco -is known around Columbus as a success ful farmer, especially im the raisins cf potatoes. This year he has orer 1,100 bushels of Irish potatoes, of the Early Ohio variety, and thy are of the best quality- Mr. Lisco always creates a demand for his crop and this year all of his potatoes were ordered before they were taken from the ground.
