ColumDus Joiirna -Extra,. ciarz" EL.ECTIOIT. A Little Mixed But a High-License Vic tory. We present, in tabular form this morn ing, a full report of the election yester day. Everything passed off quietly. The republicans are well pleased with tho action of their convention and made a good canvass for tho short time that their opponents, tho democracy, were in tho field, that ticket having been nomi nated about 10 p. m. tho evening before election. Let tho same spirit that made itself manifest in the adoption of their plat forma strict enforcement of tho laws and ordinances be made manifest throughout the next year, as occasion presents, and tho contest of yesterday will not bo without very substantial beneficial results, in tho government of tho city. There was no contest between the two parties for members of tho school board, republicans nominating Kramer and democrats Davis. Mr. Whitmoyer, who was, during his absence, and without his consent or knowledge, placed upon tho democratic ticket for councilman of the Third ward, is a republican, and had emphatically said to friends who wished to nominato him on the republican ticket, that ho would not servo if elected, even by a unanimous vote. Ho had served long enough, ho said. Mr. Gluek, who was defeated at a prior election becauso ho favored an oc cupation tax on saloons, was elected councilman for tho Second ward on that issue.
