The excavation for the now addition
to tho First Congregational church is
nearly finished aud tho masous will soon
begin work on tho foundation This

cribes the intended improvements

The addition will ocoapy a space 30 by
40 feet extending tho church consider
ably but with gables on tho east north

in reality give the church a bettor ap
pearance than it now has The floor of
the new portion will be dropped 17
inches allowing for two stories and giv
ing two largo upstairs rooms to be used
at the time of receptions aud other
