oronce to the claims tiled for medical
and hospital attendance and the fu
neral expenses in Iho matter of the
death of Louis Aultman , will say that
In my opinion there can be no ques
tion lint that the county Is llablo for
reasonable expenses. While the de
ceased was a non-resident of the coun
ty , still , having no money or friends
and belli ) ; In absolute need of medical
attendance , and after his death , there
belnn no one to take chaw of bis
body , It was necessary for the county
to Klve him care while living and bury
the body when dead , but the expenses
Incurred should lie reasonable and
should he only such as were absolute
ly necessary.
Yours very truly ,
Hurt. MnpcH.

Old People Have Their Troubles.
The most common ailments to which
people past middle age are subject are
Indigestion and constipation. For

The laxative effect of these tablets Is
so agreeable and so natural that you
do not realize that it has Iwen pro

PARKER CARRIED TWO OF THE
VOTING PRECINCTS.
LIGHT VOTE ON THE AMENDMENT
Bryan , Allen and Robertson Received
Votes .is Preference for United
States Senator Green Garden and
Schoolcraft Firmer than Missouri.
The ofllclal returns of the Madison
county vole at the election last Tues
day are herewith presented , and some
remarkable pluralities are shown. A
remarkable feature of the table Is the
fact that but two precincts In the
county gave the Parker electors a plu
rality and they were Green Garden
and Schoolcraft. The majority for the
presidential electors , however , reached
the magnificent llgure of 1,101.
Two precincts , Union and School-
craft , reported no votes for preference
for United States senator. Mr. Hur-
kett's majority was 1782. There were
14 votes cast for W. J. Hryan , four for
W. V. Allen and two for W. M. Robert
son for this honor.
The vote was light on the constitu
tional amendment , less than n quar
ter of the voters expressing them
selves one way or the other on this
question. Of those who did vote there
was n majority of 285 in favor of the
amendment.
Of the pluralities on the state ticket
Governor Mickey received the small
est , 295 , and J , L. McHrlen , for super
intendent of public instruction , the
largest , C44.
Jack Koenlgsteln , running without
opposition for county attorney , re
ceived better than his party vote , get
ting forty-seven more votes than the
republican presidential alectors.
Williams for state senator ran a lit
tle behind the average on the state
ticket but received 555 as his plural
ity , which must bo very satisfactory.
F. W. Richardson , for state representa
tive received the same plurality as Mc
Hrlen , being the highest vote on the
state ticket , and Johnny Harding for
county commissioner eclipsed every
thing but the presidential electors in
his plurality , getting 701 votes more
than his opponent , Mr. Mahonoy.
J. J. McCarthy was heartily endorsed
for congress , receiving a majority of
158 over Mr. McKllllp.
The Fourth ward of Norfolk has the
credit for being the banner socialist
precinct , more votes being recorded
for that ticket in the one ward than
In all the balance of the county.
