MAY SUFFER YEARS TO COME Still Under Intense Agony , the Young Man Who Was Struck Down on the Streets , After Over a Week , Is In a Decidedly Precarious Way. Ollie Caglc , the yonng man from Pierce who has been near dentil for more than a week because of a blow received while quietly walking along Norfolk avenue on the last night of the Nebraska firemen's tournnpient , was today taken to his home In Tierce for further care until the wound shall turn for better orvorse > Under the inlluence of a heavy opiate , which might In a small way alleviate the tremendous pain from which Caglo constantly suffers , he was carried to the city station of the Northwestern railroad and put aboard train No. 1 , which took him home. He was accompanied by his mother and others. His condition today Is slightly if at all changed from that of yesterday. He may bo a trifle better but the change in any direction Is so slight that physicians fail to note it def initely. Serious for Years. " 1 can't tell very much about that wound , " said Dr. A. Bear today , who has been in attendance. "I don't know whether he is better or not. As long as he seethed a trifle Im proved In condition , we will not op erate. That wound , though , will pos sibly give him trouble for years. He may fall at any moment. You never can tell what will happen in those brain injuries. We sent him home because his mother was at a big ex pense in keeping him here , and he can be cared for just as well at home. We reduced the suffering as much as possible , for the sake of traveling , and he will be as well taken care of In Pierce as he could he here. " Proposed Constitutional Amendment. I. 3MC. The Practice of Medicine Becoming Specialized The Physicians of the Large Cities the First to Adopt it and There are Now Many Throughout the Country. Specialism Is the Idea of the day. s'ot that every physician cnn be a specialist , nor would It bo Justifiable n every doctor becoming one , but here are advantages that can be de rived only by a special practice which s applicable to certain communities oven though the physician himself Islet lot a bona lido resident of that lin- nedltc vicinity. Small towns and the country are the principal communities n which a specialist could scarcely prosper , but as practiced by some specialists , that of going from one city to another , making tils visits and seeing his patients nt regular ap- minted Intervals , ono can derive ad vantages far superior to those re ceived In many Instances by a visit to the cities. We cite , for Instance , that of Dr. Caldwell , a specialist of Chicago , who Is and has been making regular visIts - Its to our community for the last two years. Dr. Caldwell came well rec ommended and lias succeeded In es tablishing a practice far beyond her expectations. She hns made many cures and has succeeded In building np a reputation and practice among those whom she has cured that would 1)0 hard to get away from her. Dr. Caldwell Is a lady from the new school. Her experience and training Imve been gained by many years of practice and the treatment of a vast number of cases. She confines her self to the treatment of chronic , lin gering and deep seated ailments. She pretends to cure only such diseases as she has had sufficient experience in handling , and does not go into that class of Incurable diseases which In many cases arc useless to bother with As a result of long experience , Dr. Caldwell Is thoroughly familiar with her specialties. In the treatment of cancer , consumption , heart disease , nervousness and female diseases , there are very few specialists better qualified than Dr. Caldwell. Some of her cures scorn almost like miracles. People from far and near consult her as she makes these regular visits and she Is always busy from the time she arrives until the time of her depar ture. U Is claimed by Dr. Caldwell's friends that she can diagnose a die * ease without B Question.
