A mysterious robbery of a diamond chain , valued at $3,500 , of which cither the Adams Express company or Shaw & Berry , a local Jewelry flrm , which shipped it to Now York , are probably the victims , occurred some time between Sunday and yesterday. The jewelry was dis patched from hero to Joseph Franket & Sons , New York. When delivered there was no evidence that the seal had been tampered with and the pack age was not opened In New York , until yesterday , when the chain was found to bo missing.
