John Hittle died in Omaha , Monday , April 29 , 1912 , where he had been taken about two weeks ago for a surgical operation. Mrs , Hittle was with him during hi- ; last illness and thought he was recovering until he calmly and peacefully passed away. At the last he looked to her as she handed him a drink of water and passed it back. As she took the glass he tried to speak. A slight tremor and he was gone. John Hittle was born August 15 , 1837 at Lehi , Pa. , and from there removed to Nodaway , coun ty , Mo. , and from there came to Cherry county in 1SS3 , settling on his farm down the river where he has lived since. Ue was maried in 1SSS. The funeral was held yesterday ii the .Presbyterian church , and many of his old friends were there to bid a last farewell to John , their neighbor , whom they In1 Id io high esteem.
