Mr. and Mrs. Val. Nicholson
have returned from their visit in
Belle Fourche , S. D.
J. W. Bullis returned to his
home at Sturgis , S. D. last Thurs
day. His nephew Everet Bullis
returned with him.
Mr. and Mrs. Miller of Kash-
ville came Saturday night for a
visit with Rev. and Mrs. Parsons ,
returning home Tuesday evening.

a. m. Epworth League at 7 , and
preaching at S p. m.

uralists , who accompanied Roosevelt

Jack Roach of Aiusworth was
instantly killed the night of the
4tb. He had gone to Long Pine
to spend the day and on the way
home fell under the wheels of a
train. The body was terribly ma n-
gled making identification difficult
even for members of the family.
Mr. Roach was about 27 years old
and leaves a wife and one child.
July 4th was a quiet day in
Valentine , many going to Rose
bud , Crookston , Sparks and Hig-
gins' Grove to celebrate. Rose
bud and Crookston drew the lar
gest crowds. Eight automobiles
loaded with Valentine people ,
went up to Rosebud in. the morn
ing , some coming back by the
way of St. Francis Mission and
Crookston.
Now that the State Fair manage
ment have fenced in 15 acres addi
tional of lawn and grove on which
to pitch tents for those who wish
to camp during the week , the
camping idea promises to grow in
Nebraska the same as it has in
Iowa. List year nearly ten thou
sand farmers camped the entire
week on the Iowa Fair Grounds. }
This privilege permits an inexpen-
sive outing and there is enough to
see at the Fair Grounds to keep
every moment employed during ei

Miss Gordon , Mr. Crago and
Mr. Marcellus spent the vacation
out of town.
School was resumed Wednesday >
morning with nearly all students
in attendance.
Prin. Jones and Mr. Jean spent
Sunday as guests of Mr. and Mrs.
House. They report a very en
joyable time.
Mr. Perdue and Mr. Williams
representing respectively the Macmillan -

The fudge party promised by
the basket ball girls to those who
put the basket-ball grounds in
shape occured last Thursday eve
ning at Sparks' . The guests were
feasted with all sorts of delicious
concoctions of the kind for which
Valentine girls are famous and
they feel fully recompensed for
any blisters , callouses or aching
muscles that may have been re
ceived while clearing the grounds.
