Mrs. Wm. Lacy has taken up
her residence in town.
Dr. Noyes of Valentine was in
town Monday inspecting cattle.
Lausen & Krampert have added
an office to their lumber yard and
report a good trade.
C. T. Miller and family have re
turned to town after an extended
visit in the country.
Mrs. Harriett McMu'rphy , de
puty state food inspector , was in
town over Saturday.
A large number of stray ; dogs
were treated to a tin canning on
Sunday and left for parts unknown.
A heavy rain and hail storm
struck town Monday night , sev-
eral lights of glass being broke
out.
Oswald Nehling came in from
his ranch on Goose Creek and is i
staying with his daughter , Mrs.
C. T. Miller.
Mrs. Logan Lamb returned
home to Chadron after an exten
ded visit to her mother here , Mrs.
Cunningham.

dren are to go to O'Neill for the
winter so as to allow the older

Dave Hanna has been very sick
the past week and is still confined
to his home. This attack has
caused Mr. Hanna extreme suffer
ing and it is hoped he will soon re
cover.
A. H , Lotzpeich shipped seven
cars of cattle on Sunday morning.

day were : Mr. Murray seven cars
cattle , Geo. Denning seven cars
cattle. A. E. Mori two cars of
fat steers.

Proposed Constitutional
Amendment
The following piojioscd } amendment to the
constitution of the State of Nennisku , as herein-
after set forth in full is submitted to the elect-
ors of the State of .Nebraska : to be voted upon
at the general : election to be held Tnesday , Nov-
ember 8th I. A. J ) . 1910.
"A JOINT RESOLUTION ) to amend Section
one (1) ( ) of Article seven (7) ( ) of the Constitution of
the State of Ne . raska.
Bt it linacted by the Legislature : of the Stale
of Nebraska :
Section 1. ( Amendment Constitution pro
posed. ) That section one ( ] ) of article seven (7) ( )
of the constitution of the state of Nebraska , the
sehate concurring , be so amended as to read as
follows :
Section 1. ( Who are electors. ) Every male
citizen of the United States , of the aee of twenty
one years , who shall have be n a resident of this
state six months next preceding : the election anc
.
of the county , precinct or ward , for the term
provided by Jaw shall be an elector ; provided
That per.onof foreign birth who shall h ve de
clared their intention to become citizens com-
formably to the Jaws of the United States and
are voting at the taking effect of this amend
ment , may continue to exercise the right of suff :
rage until such time as they may have resided
in the United States live years after which thej
shall take out fuil citizenship papers to be enti-
tled to vote at any succeeding election.
Section 2. ( .Uallols ( ) That at the general elec-
tion nineteen hundred and ten (19,10) ( ) there shall
be submitted to the electors of the state for their
approval or rejection the foregoing proposed
amendment to the constitution relating to the
right : of suffrage. At such election , on the ballot
of l'ach.clector voting for or against said pro-
pused amendment , shall be written or printed
tho words : "I' or proposed amendment to the
conbtitution : relating to the right of suffrage. '
and 'Against sal II'opospd amendment to the
constitution relaling to the right 0 f suffrage. "
