He prefers to keep away. J. F. Naylor , of Merriman , filed on the democratic ticket for county commissioner last \\eek. Mr. Nay- lor is a man of splendid qualifica- tions educationally , and is highly recommended by bis friends who have induced him to file his name for the office. We hope to get bet ter acquainted with him personally , but we are assured that Mr. Naylor will take an active interes in the work and together with our two re maining commissioners , Rowley and I Adamson , will .make a strong and I well balanced body to do the coun- ty's business. The social event of the season was the party given on the lawn of Charles Anderson of this city by Miss Ruth Randolph to the young people of Valentine. Sanford was in town the past week and says he's having a hard time running after 200 head of cat- tle and 100 head of horses.
