Valentine , Nebr. , Sat. , June 25 , 1910 ,
commencing at 1 o'clock p. in. , sharp , the following :
19 Head of Cows , Heifers and 1 Bull ,
Consisting of 12 head of young cows , some of which will
have calves at foot and others will be fresh soon ; 7 head
of yearling heifers in good flesh and a fine bunch ; 1 extra
. good Inglewood bull coming 3 years old. .
These cattle are all registered Short-horns in good flesh and
good breeding condition. The young bull , Prince , in theabove of-
fering , was sired by Imp. Inglewood 151200 , winner of first prize in
. Kansas City in 1900 , and sold at that time for 3400. .

James A. Morris returned from I
a trip to Omaha the past week.

Dr. Tische reports a flourishing
business with his ice cream parlor
and soda fountain.
Miss Heth of Valentine has
charge of the culinaiy department
of the Lake View hotel. I
Henry'Lausen went to Omaha on
a business trip and to visit old ac
quaintances this week.
The cemetery has been enclosed
with a woven wire fence , a much
needed improvement.
About 400 feet of sidewalk has
been added to our town the the
past week by tne C. & N. % V.
Mrs. Frank Krampert is reported
as doing nicely at Burlington J unc-
tion , where she is taking treatment.
C. J. White , J. Hickman and
Grandma Barnes are having cement
walks laid in front of their resi-
dences in the south part of town.
The young ladies ofV ood Lake
gave a linen shower to Miss West
the past week and some very pretty
pieces of needle work of the local
girls was presented.
\V. Honey returned from Omaha
the latter part of last week , where
he went to consult specialists as to
his health , and is feeling much
better after treatment. #
Joe Weisner , our popular hotel
man , has had his hotel thoroughly
over-hauled and the rooms and
halls treated to a coat of alabastine
and the woodwork grained and
varnished by u. Miller.
W. A. Parker and wife were called
Sunday evening to attend the fun-
eral of Mrs. Parker's father who
died suddenly on Saturday. The
entire community extend their
sympathy to the bereaved family.
W. F. Parker returned from a
visit in the east on Thursday last
and brought home some very Useful
articles in glass ware for sale
in his store. Mr. Parker reports a
favorable impression of the Omaha
wholesale business district.
A large crowd attended the dance
at the Haymaker place on Saturday
of last week and all report a very

enjoyab'e time. Miss But-
terfield displayed her skill in the
culinary art to the satisfaction of
i all present , and was votec & ( a grand
entertainer.
Woodlake will have a grand cele-
bration on July 4th , and many
prizes are offered for the races , ball
game , etc. , and many other attrac
tions never seen here before will be
presented. A big dance in the ve-
ning at the opera house will be tne
finishing touch preceded by fire
works.
