I
A. Lotspeich of Wood Lake I .
was in town .yesterday getting I
out sale bills for his big stock
sale of 315 head of cattle and some
I
horses Wednesday , June 29 K-
He has quit the ranch and is now !
running a store in Wood Lake.
Notice his big sale advertisement ]
in this paper.
There were 2000 to ' 3000 people
in town last Saturday to see Goll-
mar Bros. show. All day long
the streets were swarmed and the ,
side walks none too large or wide
for convenience in moving along.
The people came from all over
the land up and down the railroad ,
in wagons , buggies ! , horse back ,
and a foot. They were here to
see the big Gollmar Bros. show.
All the big shows stop at Valen-
tine and this one was enroute
west , stopping only at the best
towns , coming here from O'Neill
and making the next stop attChad-
ron. These people are gentlemen
to deal with and they give a good
show. No grafters nor bad men
are allowed in the bunch and every
body is as safe as at home plough-
ing corn.
J. H. Quigley tells us that he
will have his opera house com-
pleted about the 1st of July , with
seating capacity of 400 to 500 per-
sons , and a handsome stage the
same size front as the old Church
opera house , which is now being
transformed into a hotel , leaving
Quigley's opera house to take its
place with the same capacity and
stage front , big enough in the past
and will be for several ! years to
come under normal conditions.
The new stage will be fitted with
an asbestos fire proof curtain ,
which has been delayed awaiting
inspection in New York to com- : "
ply with fire regulations. We
congratulate . Quigley upon
the fine furnishings and opera
chairs , which are the best Valen-
tine has had for a public hall or
opera house. Those who desire
to use the hall for dancing should
make arrangements with Frank I
Fischer jr. , who has the manage-
ment of the hall for same.

We have answered this call in
our new book ' "Fighting the Traf-
fic in Ypung Girls , " by Ernest A.
Bell , U. S. District Attorney ; Sims ]
and others. The most sensational
indictment of the White Slave
Trade ever Published. It tells'
how thousands of young girls are
lured from their homes annually
and sold into a life ot shame. The
Cincinnato Inquirer says : "Of
all the books of the season the
war on the white slave traffic is
the most helpful ; it should be read
by every man , woman , and child. "
