have calves at foot and others will be fresh soon ; 7 head
of yearling heifers in good flesh and a fine bunch ; 1 extra
good Inglewood bull coming 3 years old.
* These cattle are all registered Short-horns in good flesh and I
good breeding condition. The young bull , Prince , in the above of-
_ fering , was sired by Imp. Inglewood 151200 ) , winner of first . prize in
Kansas City in 1900 , and sold at that time for 83,400.

Alfred Schleuter has had all of
the buildings on his ranch south
of town treated to two coats of
paint by C. F. Miller.
John Applegate has started
things booming again by putting
down a cement sidewalk in front
of his town residence.
On Tuesday , May : 31 , announce-
ment was made of the betrothal of
Alfred Morris and Miss Leola
"West of Wood lake precinct. The
young man is the eldest son of A.
E. Morris , and a grand-son of U.
S. Commissioner James Morris of
Johnstown. The young lady. is
the oldest daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Jesse West and is a typical
American girl of the highest sterl-
ing character , beloved by all who
know her and has the best wishes
of the entire community.
Badger Lake.
Cecil Barnes is building a house
on his claim.
John Devillers is the owner of a
new top buggy.
Dan Adamson and wife visited
Chesterfield Sunday.
J. D. Teeters went to Cody
Monday after freight.
Chas. Kime went to Cody rec-
ently after a load of freight.
Ansel Bjorkman has returned
from his visit at Hay Springs.
Ray Kime , who has been attend-
ing school at Hot Springs , has re
turned home'for vacation.
Dock Johnson , wife and son of
Grant Pass , ' Ore. , , arrived last
Sunday and are visiting Mrs.
Johnson's daughter , Mrs. Daniel
Adamson.

W. F. Parker and wife left for
Omaha and Iowa points and ex-
pect to be away for about 10 days.
The C. & N. W. cement work-
ers are here to put in crossings
and sidewalks in their portion of
the town.
Miss Mary Hanna has been on
the 'sick list for a few days. '
On Saturday , June 4 , Wood
Lake Camp , M. , V. A. , held an
ice cream festival at which the
Hon. J. C. Quigley , county judge ,
spoke as to the benefits of fratern-
al insurance societies and their
remarkable growth in the last de-
cade. The address as a whole
showed a master conception of the
subject at hand. In the evening.
I U. S. Commissioner James Mor
ris of Johnstown spoke on the
same subject , after which the
young people enjoyed a dance
music being furnished by the Cot-
1 I trell sisters of Bassett. About 25
couple of oodmen and Royal
Neighbors of Johnstown came up
on the evening train. After ice
, cream had been served at 10:30 : p.
1m. 1 , the Johnstown delegation re
turned home and the Wood lake
folks continued to dance till the
l wee hours of the morning.
A majority of the men about
here met at Teeter's store Sunday
to-organize for a celebration.
Era Farnham and Albert Rus-
sell and wife . left last week for a
month's outing in the Black Hills.
The Barnes school picnic and
the Fourth of July celebration has
been consolidated and will be held
in the T 0 grove near the school
house. Everybody invited to
come and have a good time. The
school will furnish the program.
Liberal purses for all sports. "Ball
game between Newton and Lake. :
The bowery will be spacious
enough to accommodate all. It
will be under canvas.
