Valentine , Neb. , March 32 1910.-The . board of county com missioners of Cherry county ! , Ne- : braska , met in special session pur- suant to the call _ of the couaty clerk , said special session being called for the purpose of receiving bids .and awarding contract for the construction of a steel bridge in Lavaca precinct and for the trans- action of any other business of the county properly presented. Pres ent , James Mone , chairman , N. S. Kowley and J. A. Adamson. . Upon examination of the bids on file in the county clerk's office for the construction of a steel bridge in Javaca precinct at the place known as the Case crossing , all bids were rejected. Upon due consideration of the protest affidavit of James Hudson for personal tax paid by him for the year 1909 , amounting to 77.78 , paid under protest , Feb. 8 , 1910 , as evidenced by tax receipt No. 2449 , for the reason that said as- . sessment was erroneous , he not being the owner of said property at that time , same was approved and ' a refund of 77.78 was order- ed made to him. refund of § 3.30 was ordered made to Winnie Ayers of Merri- man precinct , on tax receipt 1422 year 1908 , for taxes erroneously assessed to her.
