Dr. G. M. Barnes , the eyesight
specialist was in the city Tues-
day. He is very enthusiastic ! over
the United Wireless Telegraph
Co. , which he recommends to all
his friends for investment. The
stock has increased steadily since .
the company was organized and is
now selling at § 40 : a share. The
i
company has three big manufac-
tories for their supplies and hun i
dreds of stations already establish-
ed , and is going to be a strong
competitor of the Western Union
and the cable companies and also
the Bell Telephone Co. , as it has I
also entered the telephone field
and will in time : supplant all wire
companies at a much less expense.
It is a wonderful invention and
the stock has been placed on the
market through fiscal agents for
the company , and to prevent any
syndicate or corporation gaining
control they\restrict \ the sale to
1,000 shares to each person. The ,
company has now a capital of 40
millions ) and an income of 80,000 ,
per month. Stock is rapidly ad-
vancing as the people realize the
great possibilities of wireless.

Boycotts or Ballots , ?
.
Blunt old Senator Tillman , in
his comment on the meat boj'cott ; , I
hits the nail on the head in a very
few 'wo ds. "Any man who pinch-
es his own belly because he does
not know how to vote has no sym- I
pathy of mine , " he said. And he I
added that the excitement over
the bo cott Hdisgusts a man who
knows that there is a remedy in
the Elkins and Sherman laws if
they were only enforced. "
.
It is worth thinking about.
What is the use after voting for
the candidates whom the trusts
support , to organize a boycott I
against .a single trust when they
I
have all got what they wanted-
and : "what you voted to them ?
, \\gby were the trusts , the big

Any man who has a right to be

why. . They were working then to
secure what now , from day to

They were working to get the

THey were working for tksecur-

They , ; were working for federal
charters-which they will get if
the next congress is republican.
Once they have got them they
will - become legalized high way-
men instead of outlaw highway-
m " n. .
They were world ng for a central
bank-and they will get that , too ,
if the next congress is republican.
They were working , in a word , I
for such control of commerce and
industry , for such influence with
the federal government , as would
enable them to fix their own prices
on the articles they : have for sale
and which the American people
must buy. / . I
