Thj infant child of Jas. Valen- tine was buried in the Sparks cemetery last Thursday. J. M. Moffet and wife were down from Tripp county Friday , hunting a justice of the peace. Everyone is taking advantage . of the bright days to go to Valen ] tine. Four teams from Trip coun- ty passed here Tuesday. Gertie Shellbourn is now teach- ing in Highland district. James I Hudson on January 16th to , help celebrate his 52nd birthday. All report a good time. Quite a crowd gathered but they were disappointed as' for some reason he failed to show up. Everybody would like to hear some preaching as there has- : ; been . . none since August. e Eli Chat. Wm. Miss Esther Rikketts has been having , a jolly ( ? ) time with an ach- ing tooth J. E. Hendricks ; received a car of coal last week and sold it all in a day and a half. ] J. E. Hendricks is working for Ese Walker on the section. liis wife is running the store. The Pleasant View school ] open- ed Monday. They had quite a vacation on account of scarlet fever. Miss Genevieve Fagan has re covered from an attack of grip and has again taken up her work in the Merriman school. _ Ross , the 7-year-old son of H. H.
