What Will Happen Dur =
ing 1910.
( Auburn Ili raid. )
One of the most natural instincts
of the human race is to endeavor
to pry into the future. It has al- !
ways been so , and , we presume ,
will always be so as long as hum-
f
ans are humans.
Recognizing this weakness the
papers at the first of the year are
. full of astrological prophecies with
reference as to what will occur
during the year 1910. Although
these prophecies have been made :
eers in various lands , they exhibit
a : remarkable unanimity so far as I <
those happenings presaged to v'1 r- ! ;
ious countries are concerned. The I
following , from the World Herald
is along the same general lines as
the others , with the addition of be-
ing much more terse , while cover-
ing the same ground :
During the winter quarter ,
which . lasts until ill , : rch 20 , there ,
will be many configurations of
planets that are held to be greatly
powerful for disturbances. , They
point to firey , angry passions
among the people and contentions
between nations. There is danger
of class disputes and riotous out-
breaks in many lands. Crimes
and scandals will be rife.

suns ' w ingress took place in what
astrologers call the first house ,
with Mars and Saturn in the fourth
house amI ] Mercury ruling the
seventh house. These signs Indi-
cate astrologically that there is a
strong probability of great storms
along the Atlantic coast. Troub-
les with public revenues may be
apprehended and there will prob-
ably be violent dissatisfaction with
great political leaders who intro-
duce intricate or dubious legisla
tion affecting the republic's most .
vital interests and its principles.
Indications are that the occur-
rances of the winter quarter in the
United States will ] ) lead to a great
change in public opinion about the'
judicial system of the common -
wealth , resulting ultimately in
radical changes in courts and , law
making. . .
South America ' and ' Central
America are menaced by serious
earthquakes and volcanic disturb-
]
ances . especially between the (50th
and 70th degrees of longitude.
In China and Korea , "Mars and
Saturn on the meridian augur iju
surrection and bloodshed.
These two malefic planets also
menace Europe seriously with
"war and panic. " England and (
Germany fall under their evil in-I ]
fluence particularly. There are
portents of serious crisises in both
countries. c "
The signs of the spring quarter (
of 1910 point to great advance in (
the knowledge of the hereafter and
in physic science , shaking many
of our accepted scientific beliefs ,
about mind and matter. l
Floods of appalling magnitude 1
are threatened , and great efforts
will be needed to avert them.
The orient is threatened with
war and rebellion. . '
Earthquakes s , railway and auto
mobile disasters and "a great I

many parts of the ' world. : . I
The people of the United States : tJ
