Quigley this week. j Pete DeCory is in town and says the stock are beginning to drop by I the wayside and those without feed t will probably have a heavy loss. i W. M. Dunn and Jos. Ryschon departed fo r Oklahoma City and . Kansas where they will spend a month visiting friends and rela- tives. The town board has quarantined a several . places in town on account of scarlet fevei patients and have forbid all public meetings or gath- erings in , . the city. , U Geo. W. Kellar of Cascade is doI ing business in town today and call- I ed to renew his subscription to this j 4 paper. He says stock that is being 1 fed ' is doing well but fears for those that must rustle. Alva Green and wife of Merri- . Q man have been in town the- past week. Mr. Green is a practical surveyor and is making ! a map of the western part of the county for n the bank at Merriman. s These are strenuous times for the \ i stockmen who have stock without feed and the more so if he owes for q them. The bride a is a talented lady of goodparent - age and relationship and has for a long time been employed as stenographer in the office of Wal- , cott & Morrissey , the best at- torneys in the western part of the state , and socially this'young lady has many friends. Miss Elsie Mae Sherman was united in marriage ' Wednesday evening to ' Clarence J. , McClelland of Fullerton , Neb. , at the home of the bride's parents , Mr. arid Mrs. D. E. Sherman this city , in the presence of a score of rela : tives and a large number of the : most intimate friends of the family . I in Valentine , the ceremony being I performed by the Rev. J. H. Baker of the M. E. church with impressive solemnity. The house was handsomely decorated in drapery festoons , ferns and flowers and brilliantly lighted with electric lights in clusters with bell shaped globes and made to look its prettiest. The bride was beautifully ar- rayed in a princess gown of cream Jandsdowne with yoke of gold net aud finished with a fancy 'cream silk braid , and carried a boquet of roses. Miss : Ethel Sherman , sister of the bride was bridesmaid and was assisted by Miss Anna , McClelland , a sister of the bridegroom. The bridegroom was 'dressed in , the conventional black and was at- tended < by Roscoe Fischer. To the strains of a wedding1 march played by Miss : Leo West of Woodlake r , they marched . into the _ front room near the entrance to : the dining room where the guests could view from both ar rooms < and from the rooms ad- joining and here the ceremony , . ! was ; performed. Sheriff Rosseter brought in" ; Ralph Wilson and Cecil Coryell from ! Merriman Tuesday , charged with burglary. They broke into trotter & Hall's hardware or umber yard office Saturday night and took from the safe about § 85 , which H. E. Root had laft l ( th'ere upon closing up , that belonged to the Woodmen lodge , Mr. Root ' being the secretary. Ralph ' Vilson or "Shorty , " as he is familiarly ! known , seemed to be % the , principal in the burglary and gave § 25 to Cecil Coryell as his " 1 share . and kept the remainder. . I Shorty was known I to be broke . . and had been trying to borrow money from friends without suc- cess : previously and was seen to have ; money after , so suspicion pointed to him'and Charley Rose playedPinkerton" to get him to lr' nk' a little and flash his money and , "throwed in with him" .so to I speak ; until such time as they were I ready to sp'ring the trap. * They ' knew Cecil had been with him a"hd I got him to confess and finally I when Shorty was landed , in tl-.e' caliboose was confronted with Cecil's confession and he also con fe & sed. Most of the money . was recovered. Wilson's age is given as 26 and Coryell's , as 16. : . . - ' .
