Christmas work and also keeping j
up with the regular work.
The eighth grade , . .who „ expected
to give a dialogue some time before
Xmas , find that they are unable to
give it , but expect to later.
I On Friday , the 17th , the high
school musicale will be held in the
I M. Br. church. The proceeds will
, be given toward securing : a new
1 piano for the high'school.

The primary pupils are finding
out for themselves all they can cdn-
cerning the history of Christinas.
In this way they remember much
better the facts about why we have
Christmas.
The ninth grade algebra are now
completing factors , having covered
100 pages thus far. We hope this
year to cover enough in one year
so that the second year's work will
not be , so heavy.
The senioi : class decorated the
assembly room with their class col
ors for the Philo. program Tuesday
and displayed their pennant above
the decorations ( ; which pennant is
an echo of the very successful pro-
gram and is now streaming from
the flag staff of the school building.
Miss Van Driel will spend her
I Xmas at her home in Malmo. Miss
Daly will leave Eriday night to
spend her vacation in Chicago and
Boone. . Ia. Miss Carrol will leave

for her home at Creighton Friday
to'spend'her vacation. Miss Gordon

cards , the following explanation is
given :
"E" means excellent and stands
for a grade from 90 to 95 per cent.
"Et" means 95 Jo 100. " '

"G" means good : 85 to 90.

Misses : Elizabeth Adamson and
Vera Crippen did their Christmas
shopping Saturday.
Venus Piera started for Omaha
to attend the stock show and will ] ]
also visit his old home in ' Bruns
wick.
Mr. Grooms is improving. His
fever is broken but'it has left . him
very weak. Harold is able to sit
up part of'the time.
J. W. Adamson has a new " 22"
and killed a "whalen"jack rabbit
Sunday. The first thing he saw
he shot and killed.

Miss Gertrude Quigley , who is
teaching up the river , went to
town Friday to have some dental
work done and accompanied Mis-
ses Adamson and Crippen home
from Valentine Sunday and then
went on to her school.

There will be a Christmas tree

and program given at the Adam-
son school house Friday , Dec. 24.
Everyone is cordially invited. All
are invited to place presents on
the tree for anyone. The . pro
gram will begin at 7:30. : Come

the students last week on reforms
in football. Mr. Crabtree is agi-
tating a reform movement with
the purpose of decreasing the list
of deaths and serious injuries re-
