Thoroughbred Hereford Sale.
The attention of our readers is
called to the public sale of the Brook-
mont Herefords at O'Neill , ' Nebr. ,
Thursday , Nov. 18 , 1909. There will
be 40 head of Hereford cattle in this
sale. The best of blood lipes are
represented and cattle ' of pronounced
individual merit. : Those of our read-
ers that have followed Hereford his-
tory for the labt 20 years are familiar
with this herd of cattle. Some of the
best sires ot the breed have been used
in building this herd-and it is con-
ceeded that Brookmont Farm has one
of the greatest collections : of Here-
ford cattle in the United States
They are making this sale O'Neill
'on ' account of having surplus of
cattle on hand and with a desire to
get acquainted with and extend their
trade among the breeders and farm
ers of Nebraska. This will , undoubt-

Ghosts , Goblins , and Green
Squashes/7 _ _ This ; they .gladly
consented to do. - Upon arriving
at the meeting place , Friday eve-
ning , thoy were loaded into hay
racks , and finally landed at the

the North Table. Ghosts con-
ducted them into the house where"
they were welcomed by a witch. I
The room was lighted by Jack 0' ,
. .Lanterns and then numbers were I
given out , and , as they were call-
ed , each person went outside. A
ghost led them around to a small
cellar window. Through this
they all had to crawl. They went
down into a spookey cellar. Here
were skeletons in the corners
which made your blood run cold
and your hearts jump into r your
mouth as bats greeted you now I
and then. You wondered what
was coming next , -but you had not
long to wait as a ghost soon took
you up a ladder and onto the gar-
ret roof. Then , crawling into the
window again- frighten
you were . - : !
ed by more ghosts and bats. How
thankful you were when you at
last reached the ground and were
on your way to the gypsy tent to
have your fortune told. After
everyone had gone through all the
daring feats they were very
thankful when the refreshments
were served. The Freshmen did
