Quible , present in- . ! / cumbent of the treasurers's office by appointment , and candidate for election before the voters of Cherry county at the coming election. . Mr. Quible has held this position now but little over three months , I yet during this short period he has met many , if not most of the tax- payers of this county and by his efficiency , courtesy ' and dispatch in I attending to their business they have been agreeably impressed with his fitness for the position of county treasurer. A farmer and small ranchman by occupation , Mr. Quible began I marking himself and family out a home in the then uninviting sand hills many years ago and by overcoming the many hardships and various discouraging obstacles well known to each of the old and new , settlers in their turn , made his particular portion of the soil of this county stand forth as an unimpeachable witness to his pluck , industry I ' . and ability to manage whatever he takes in hand. lIe is not wealthy , / but on the contrary is in very moderate circumstances ; yet he asks no favor on account of poverty , for so far as opportunity has presented :1 : itself within his humble zone of operations he has been successful , I 1 and in presenting himself to the voters of Cherry county for thejr 1 ' " permission for him to act in the capacity of one of their hired fcer- vantsjhe promises unequivocally to perform the duties pertaining to I I the office of treasurer faithfully and honestly. ; Mr. Quible has not been basking in the enjoyment of a salary ' n ! from any source in the past , but comes fresh from the ranks , earnest- I ly sincere in , his endeavor to give satisfaction to his employers , the - . : voters , and he simply says to them in his quiet way , "I will guarantee ! . to earn every dollar of my wage , and more , during the next two " years ' you will afford the opportunity by employing me. " A fair I proposition certainly. ! . To the citizens of 'V ood Lake and neighboring precincts the > name of Joseph P. Kreycik , candidate for county commissioner ; ; \ needs no herald to announce it at the "huskings" . He is well and favor- ably known to all for his many gooJ qualities as a man and neighbor , as also for his good business ability and pleasant and agreeable dis position. Mr. : Kreycik , if elected , will make an efficient commission- er , and if a man's qualifications for that position can be gauged by what s "neighbors say of him , the voters of Cherry county will make no mistake in selecting him. " When the citizens of Cherry County , two years ago selected the young but deserving James C. Quigley to preside over the destinies of the county court they chose wisely ] , for that young man has made good in every particular. He has brought the affairs of that import- tant office up to date and placed them upon the base of a well regulat- ed system. He is again a candidate for tho same position , and while he seems certain of reaping a reward of merit , yet , nevertheless , ; , while thankful for past favors he wishes the voters to remember - him at the coming election also. r . , . , . Clyde A. Rosseter , everybody's sheriff , has most certainly re- 'r flected creditupon that position by the manly and straight forward , manner in which he has conducted the affairs of his office and is up t , reelection : at this time without opposition. Yet he likes to get out ; , and visit his old friends , the voters through out the county as much as possiblehaving already proven himself a good officer , , his actions in . this campaign proves that he is appreciative of past favors as well as : : expectant of present ones. . , { J. W. McDaniels our candidate for county surveyor is a citizen * * - of Valentine and is well known , , and his ability ; in this line ] recognized I over the county generally , but as the territory is large , there are l" . doubtlesly . a number of localities that he has not as yet visited in the , plying of his vocation as surveyor. Therefore we desire to assure our citizens that Mr. McDaniels is in every way competent and relia- able , and will perform the services required of him faithfully if elected. The citizens of Cherry County are requested to forward to the observer as soon as practicable evidence from the distribution and display of the daily weather fore- casts , and also of advantages from l the publication in the weekly pa- r pers of weather statistics .
