Valentine 2 = 3 ; Stanton 4 = 2
The Stanton baseball team came
up'to play a series of three games
with the Valentine boys this week ,
and , as a consequence , local base
jail fans have had the opportunity
ot seeing two snappy games.
In the first game on Tuesday the
locals lost by a score of 4 to 2.
The contest was fast and scrappy
with honors on both sides about
even. In the ninth inning , with
two men gone and two strikes on
the batter , . an opportune hit
brought in two runs , broke the
tie and decided the game in Stant-
\
on's favor.
. Wednesday's game was a pitch
er's battle in which both slab art-
ists were backed by brilliant field-
ing which kept the score down
and the ' ierves of the spectators I
on edge. The locals pulled oft'a
nice victory by the score of 3 : to 2.1
Today's game was a walkaway
for Valentine who out classed the
Stanton boys 14 to 0. . . I
