Mr. Dona hue reports crop conditions in eastern Xebraska and Iowa in ex cellent condition except in the low land which could not stand the ex cessive rains. At a meeting of the citizens it was decided to hold a carnival in Val entine on the 22,23,24and 25 , of Sep tember . A committee has been ap pointed to secure attractions and on ly those of a high class will be con sidered. The establishment of an an nual carnival marks an epoch in the development of the country. It makes it a possible time when the en tire country side may gather togeth er and he amused. It takes the place of the old country fair and from the effort being used to make it succesfful will he far better.
