The most careful house
keeper cannot always keep
bed bugs from getting into
the house , but any house
keeper can keep them from
staying there. Whether you
are aware of their presence
or not every crack or corner
where bed bugs or their nits
are likely to be should be
an application of
BALL'S BED BUG
KILLER.
When hot weather comes
they multiply so rapidly it is
more difficult to thoroughly
exterminate them. Save
trouble by using Ball's Bed
Bug Killer now. No bed bug
or nit can live where this
preparation has been applied.

Atkinson 8 Valentine 7.
The baseball game between At
kinson and Valentine last Thurs
day afternoon was interesting and
exciting from the first. Atkinson
got a tally in the second inning
and Valentine two tallies in the
third and two more in the fifth. In
the seventh inning Athiuson got
another tally and Valentine got
two more , making game 6 to 2 in
our favor at the beginning of the
eighth , in which JBEJD Atkinson
got two tallies and Valentine one ,
making the score 7 to 4. In the
ninth our boys seemed to break
down and Atkinson run in three
tallies which made 7 and 7. Two
more innings were necessary to
settle it , Atkinson getting a tally
in the llth inning.
The Atkinson boys are ball play
ers and we played 'em hard for
the honors and lost. But we hope
to g ve 'em a much closer rub yet
before the season is far advanced.
Some of our boys played out of
luck and they were some of our
best players , generally , too.
The boys gave a dance in the
evening to round up the day with
a game in which the ladies can
take a part.
Ground rules tied the game in
the ninth inning. With a runner
on third base , Caylor gave a wild
pitch- the ball hitting the back
stop and entitling the base runner
to home base without being put
out. These ground rules practically - '
ally lost the game for Valentine as
no chance was given for the ball
to be fielded and the runner thrown
out , while if the ground rules had
made it possible for the runner to
have been thrown out , it would have
been an easy chance and the game
would have ended 7 to 6 in Valen
tine's favor as two men were al
ready out.
