together with J. C. Northrop and
family , compose a family re-union
for Mr. and Mrs. Smith of our
city , celebrating their fiftieth wed
ding anniversity , Wednesday ,
October 2 , 1907. This is the first
time the family has been together
for 22 years nearly a quarter of
a century , during which time
two brothers and a sister had not
met. A sister and brother . met
by accident on the train near Fre
mont , coming up , when one in
quired of the other the time of
day which led to further conver
sation and they were both going
to the same town , which was
strange , but stranger to learn that
both were going to a family re
union of W. R. Smith and wife ,
which explained it all. The fam
ily is so far scattered that this
will probably be the last family
re-union for Mr. and Mrs. Smith ,
as both are growing old , but it is
a pleasure to see them all together
again the children of a happy
home. Once again they are duti
ful sons and daughters home to
visit father and mother who have
never ceased to remember their
children and seems to them but a
short time since they left home as
children.
