Remember the date. 34 3 Several babies have been ill with cholera infantum the past two weeks and some older people have been suffering from the same disease and we suppose it , sh'ould be called in their case "cholera adultum. " The Valentine base ball tram have arranged to play the follow ing teams : Sparks at the old sot- tiers reunion on North Table next Saturday , Johnstown at Johnstown next Monday , Norden at Norden next Thursday ! and _ Johnstown at Valentine a week from Sunday. As we go to press it appears that Clyde A. Rosseter of Barley precinct is nominated for sheriff on the democratic ticket. The democratic ticket nominated with out opposition are M. F. Clynes , county judge ; A.N. . Compton , coroner ; P. II. Young , assessor , and J. W. McDaniel , surveyor. The republicans claim the nomi nation of L. N. L'ayport , judge ; Chas , Sherman , sheriff , and Ed ward Ormesher , assessor. Others on ticket nominated without op position were J. T. Keeley , clerk ; W. D. Armstrong , treasurer ; Miss Kortz , superintendent ; Dr. Lewis , coroner ; Arthur Bowring , com. 3rd district , and Geo. E. Russell , com. 2nd dist. At the old settlers re-union held at Sparks last Friday abd Satur day an enthusiastic crowd watched the ball games with much interest. On Friday Valentino beat Sparks 4 to 2. Until the eighth inning Sparks was in the lead , when Val entine bunched their hits and made the winning scores. Stetter and Fischer for Valentine and Shell- bourn and 0-sborn for Sparks were the batteries. On Saturdry morn ing Valentine was beaten by Sparks 5 to 4 in a seven inning game. Bishop brothers for Val- ' en tine and Shellbourn and Evans for Sparks were the' batteries. Saturday afternoon Cherry county beat Keya Paha county in a six inning game , score 1C to 1. Headington and Carter for Cher ry county and Evans , Logan and Ashburn for Keya Paha county were the batteries. The reunion on the whole was a success. W. H. McCIoud has been very low the past week , ' though some stronger today. His son Joe remains - mains in town to assist in taking ( I care of h im. ! The daily papers state that M. 1 B. Reese ( rep ) is probably nomi- natnd for supreme judge and Geo. L. Loomis ( clem. ) gets the nomi nation. The seven candidates for district res the following vote in Cherry county with five precincts .vet out : Alder 108 , Brown 59 , Douglas 97 , Jencks 82 , Morgan 17 , Porter 61 , Scattergood 100.
