EDITHE KLKGAMAN , Teacher. The Keeney Stock Company close- ed their engagement here last Satur day in "The Hand of Man. " This company is much ahead of the aver age repertoire company and during their stay in our city made a large number of friends who will always have a "glad hand" for the Keeney Enterprises. The plays they put on here were "A Vagabond's Wife , " "The Devil's Web , " and "The Hand of Man , " all first class plays and when produced by ns capable a com pany as Mr. Keeney has on the road this .season are equal to any of the one-nighters. Should this com pany ever have occasion to visit our city again they will be met with crowded houses Osceola ( la ) Sen tinel. There is a new deal in affairs in Nebraska and the people are fight ing for lower railroads rates. So many things are happening of real interest to every citizen that a daily newspaper is now a necessity. The biggest bargain that has come to our notice is The Daily State Journal without Sunday to Jan uary 1 , 1907 , for only 50 cents. This is such a small price that it can only be made to introduce the paper into new homes. The pub lishers claim that this is not a scheme to get you on their books and then keep on sending , but that the paper will be stopped on January 1 , 1907. It would be hard to find a better way of invest ing 50 cents. 3Iorris-i > ecler. Ainsworth. Neb. , Oct.13. This afternoon at the residence of P. E. "The Texas Liquor Dealer laments the fact that over half the populate ! area of Texas is under prohibition ; 55 of the 220 organized counties of the state are wholly so by local option. Unless we see with blur red vision , there are troublous times ahead for our trade. The prohibiting fanatics have with the tenacity of devils held their forces together and made gains for the last 20 years that hocle ill to our trade. Let them increase in like ratio their numbers a few years and our business will be swept from existence. " Should not we whose souls have been enlightened on the prohibition question take courage at such testimony ? JL.IDG-A.JL JNOTICJES.
