along nicely after his attack of
pneumonia , had a relapse Friday
and is quite ill again.

U. Hunt has moved his house up
to Eli where they are living.
Mrs. Samuel Bucminister is stay
ing a few days with Mrs. Nead on

Earl Adams and Ghas. Nichols
visited the school in district 75 one
day last week.
Chas. Dennison , Wm. Spense and
Eansom and Less Hunt are work
ing for Mr. Coryell.
A basket supper will be given in
the school house of district 75 the

Wm. Coryell and family have
move down from Bordeaux to take
charge of the east section at Eli.

the train on S. G. Oake's place rec

Philip Nelson is trying to as land I
agent now. You can see him driv
ing around in the hills most any
time. He and August Anderson i
were going to Merriman Monday ,
where August was going to adver
tise to make final proof. They
were to meet afc a certain place near
Mr. Jessen's , but when Philip got b' '
there he did not see anything of f

The snowstorm on Good Friday
was severe on thin stock.
Mrs. Burt Hutchison and chil-
cjren are staying at A. Hutchison's.
She expects to join her husbnnd at
'arson ' , Ore. , in about two weeks.
Orvill Connor and wife are visit
ing at T. Tillson's. Mrs. Connor
will probably stay with her parents
this summer. They had intended
going to Canada , but Mr. Connor is
detained as a witness in the cases
against a cattle company for illegal
fencing of public lands.
Wednesday evening , the llth , the
young folks had a barn dance and
ice cream and oyster supper at Aug
ust Kuskie's. Guy Polen and John
Grady furnished the musid. It was
a happy crowd and "they danced all
night till broad daylight and went
home witli the girls in the morning.
A cuckoo has escaped from some
one or else has crossed the Atlantic
on an exploring expedition. His
curious call rings out clear each eve
ning. I have always understood
the cuckoo is an European bird , and
not found in America. If this is
wrong will some natural history
student kindly set me right.
E. L. Hutchison , took his wife to
Valentine April 5th tfiat she might
be more closely under the doctor's
care. She had d severe attack of
typhoid fever last winter , followed
bu acute inflamatory rheumatism ,
with dropsical swelling of the limbs.
She is very weak and uas carried on
a ppring bed in a covered wagon
and stood the trip very well. They
rented two rooms of C. P. Harnar
and Jhnniie and Miss Blanch will
take caae of their mother. ( This
item was overlooked last week. )
