On Sept. 1 , ' 07 , the new law goes
into effect requiring twelve weeks
as the minimum normal training
for a first grade county certificate.
A teacher certificated under the
old law , who attends a summer
school approved by the state sup
erintendent , at least six weeks ,
may have all of her grades accept
ed upon approval by the county
superintendent of the proper coun
ty and made state grades , except
in the five essentials. Upon such
attendance the only examination
required in the five essentials will
be in Heading and one other of
the five essentials at her selection
with the advice and consent of the
county superintendent of the
proper county.
Teachers not intending to at-
teiijl the summer school should
take their examination in March ,
April or May , and thus lessen the
burden of work that will of a
necessity fall upon the examiners
in June and August.
