Crane Hill * . Mr. Fowler and wife were down from St. Marys recently. llay Sharp was in these parts recently but we won't say what for. Mre. J. E. Edwards departed last week for her home in the southern part of the state. James Ashburn and wife gave a dance in their new house last week in honor of their daughter , Mrs. Edwards. WHO ARE You. Simon News. A light frost hit Simeon Satui day night. Dr. Lewis and son took in the ice cream social Saturday night. School will soon start at Simeon with Miss Klingaman as teacher. Wm. Harris was hurt a little this week while driving a broncho. Mrs. S. Q. Spain is home after a two months visit with relatives in Iowa and is improved in health. The little son of Kobert Ellis was very sick last Saturday. Dr. Lewis was called out to see him and he is reported as getting bet ter. The church ice cream social giv en at Miss Anna Spall's Saturday eve was well attended although it was cold for ice cream. All seem ed to enjoy themselves. SMILES. Kailey Briefs. W. H. Sellers made a business trip to Merriman this week. J. W. Bartley sold a bunch of horses to the O'Connor ranch. Mrs. Geo. Hauver and daughter Bessie risited at Seager's recently. Charles Cooper bought some spotted Arabian horses from L. W. Bartley. Wm. Calkins was doing some veterinary work on the Snake recently. H. Good fellow and August Jen sen spent the evening at Charles Sellers' ranch Sunday. John Seager , E l and Leslie Weed and C. V. Cooper were at John Bartleys Sunday. Mrs. Geo. Heyne will start for Hooper the last of the week to visit her parents and friends. W. H. Sellers planted a large kind of corn last spring. There was a boy in Bailey who recently climbed the stock to see how the , corn was getting along , and now the stalk is growing faster than the boy can climb down. He is already out of sight. Three men have undertaken to cut the stalk down with axes and save the boy from starvation , but it grows so fast that they can't strike twice in in the same place. The boy is living on raw corn and already has thrown down over four bushels of cobs. This is no peanut politics. [ This tale completeley eliminates the story of "Jack and the Bean Stalk. They are issued to show the conditions that have pre vailed , during the month in question , for the above period of years , but must not be construed as a funo-iM of the weather conditions for the coming : mcnth. Mean or normal 62 ° The warmest month was that of 1897 with an average of 70s The coldest month was that of 1902 with an average of 58 ° The highest was 1023 on 9th , 1904 The lowest was 21 ° on 25 , 1893 PRECIPITATION. Average tor month 1.10 inches. Average number of days with .01 of an inch or more 6 The greatest monthly precipitation was 4 06 inches in 1901. The least monthly precipitation was 0 08 inches in 1893. The greatest amount of precipita tion recorded in any 24 consecutive hours was 1.37 inches on 6,1901. The greatest amount of snowfall recorded in any 24 consecutive hours ( record extending to winter of 1884-85 only ) was 0.09 inches.
