ceiling. It will be the best busi

F. A. Freeland , a surveyor of
Imperial , Nebr. , is stopping at the
Chicago House in Valentine , Xeb. ,
and will survey homesteads and do
private surveying. He claims to
have had 12 years experience in

The rain on the 4th is claimed
by farmers to be just what they
needed for the spring wheat as it
was heading and it was beginning
to get dry. Since then the rain
of last night soaked the ground
and insures a splendid crop.

The bride has grown to woman
hood in this vicinity and has.been
one of the foremost teachers in
this county , having taught in our
schools during the year just past.
Mr. DeFrance is well and favor

France departed immediately for
Merriman where they will make
