Mrs. Kinkead made a trip to
J Valentine this week.
Mrs.-Swan , who has . . been , , sick
for some time , is very low.
John West came down from
Valentine "Wednesday morning on
a visit to his parents.
Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Johnson re
turned , home' from a trip to Fair
fax , S. D. , Tuesday morning.
Mr. Tillson and daughter Annie
were in Woodlake Sun'day. Miss
Anna was on her way' out to. her
school in the Groves' district *
The W. C. T. U. met with Mrs.
Whillans last Saturday , and will
be held at the home of Mrs. Vin
cent at three o'clock in the after
noon Nov. 21. Everybody invited.
Ecv. Gumbo w will preach in the
church Sunday evening , Nov. 15.

Mrs. Anna M. Palmer , o | , Des
Moines , Iowa , was here two days
and gave us some interesting talks
in the afternoon and evenings of
i each day and her lectures were
much appreciated. She' has been
on a tour , to the Pacific coast , and
has been lecturing since last May.
These were the last meetings she
held .before returning to her home.
About forty of the friends of
Mrs. E. L. Davis met at the home
of Mrs. J. W. Whillans at three
o'clock Tuesday afternoon , and
gave her a farewell reception. At
the appointed time two of the
ladies went to her home and per
suaded her to put her wraps on
and cdme down town with them ,
and. asked her to go to Mr. Whil
lans' house , where she was agree
ably surprised. Refreshments
were served and before the guests
went home a fine table cloth and
two nice handkerchiefs were pre
sented to her as souvenirs from
her Woodlake friends. Mr. and
Mrs. Davis and family started for
New 'York' Saturday morning and
tho-many friends. they 4iave left
behind'wish. I them : a.pleasant. trip
and an enjoyable time among their- ; ,
