Wedding Bells
Married at the home of the bridi
Wednesday , February 13th. 1902 a
Cody Neb , , Mrs. Emma Underwood
and Mr. Len Cearns in the presence o
many friends by Rev. Cumbow. In th <
evening the rooms were filled to ove ;
flowing with invited guests who par
took of one of the most bountiful sup
pers ever served to wedding guests
Numerous and valuable were the gifts
presented to the happy pair. After
supper the guests young and old assem
bled at the Woodman hall and a very
enjoyable time was spent in tripping the
light-fantastic-toe On the two o'clock
passenger the bridal party , including ?
number of friends departed for a brid
al trip to the hills.
At Cody , Cherry Co. . Nebr. , Monday
February 11 , 1902 Mr. Jack Barnes and
Mrs. Jeunie Eggleston were united by
the holy tie of matrimony , Judge
Towne officiating , at the home of the
brides mother. Only relatives and most
intimate friends were present but in the
evening more than a hundred guests
assembled at the Ccdy Hotel in honor
of the occasion. Gifts too numerous to
meiitiou were presented to the happy
pair to show the appreciation of Cody
people. God bless Jack and Jennie , is
the verdict of every heart in Cody.
Surely this is no marriage in haste to
be repented at leisure , for , at least ten
years when we buw Jennie we expected
to aee Jack's smiling face also and we
truly believe he is the happiest man iu
in Cherry county. Good grandma Sat-
terlee has not lost a daughter but gain
ed a son lo make pleasanter her declin
ing years and the smile of satisfaction
on her face showed her approval of her
child's choice. In their hour of joy
they did not forget even the little folks
whom at their invitation gathered to
gether at half past four Tuesday the
15th for their share of the wedding
treat and the whole village rang out
with their merry voices as they gshout-
ed hurrah ! hurrah ! for Uuclo Jack and
Mrs. Barnes.
Dear Jennie today you've sealed your vows
For better , not for worse ;
We know that Jack will prove to you
A blessing , not a curse.
The sun shines bright and beautiful
All things seem fair to day ;
The morn looks on a happy pair
Slay it be so ahvay.
God sena you blessings without number
Is the wish of many a friend ;
Strewn all along yvnr pathway
Until your life shall end.
