while working on a coal chute at Pleasant Hill Mo he fell 16 ft to the ground breaking two bones in his left foot thi owing his ankle out of joint and badly bruising his back He is under the care of the R R physi cian and is receiving excellent care A committee of women waited upon the town board at its meeting Tues day evening and presented a petition asking that screens and obstructions be taken from saloon windows also that all slot machines be ordered out of business houses and that gambling of all kinds be discontinued We hear that they made a nice little talk about caring little or
