the latters ranch at Cody for a
couple of days this week

of the land The farmers are bring
ing in corn and vegetables -in great
abundance and with due reverence to

cream and lemonade in the building
formerly used as a restaurant by Mrs
Harris on Saturday next The ob
ject is to free the M E church from
debt and is a worthy one
Sheriff Layporte made a quick trip
to Wayne and back Monday last He
brought back a prisoner Dan Mor
gan who is accused of stealing a
horse from Charles Deaver south of
Cody about May 1st last The sheriff
heard his man was down in that coun
try and wired the sheriff of Wayne to
bejon the lookout with the result
that the Wayne county man captured
Morgan at Carroll and wired Sheriff
Layporte to that effect Morgan
will have a hearing Thursday August

noon and will spend a month here vis
iting with their parents after which
they will return west to take up
work in the Chadron district of this

to the sheriff of every county in the
state to strictly enforce the game
law Sheriff Layporte requests us to
tell you that he will comply with the
governors notice to the letter and
all offenders will be promptly arrest

painting for Mr Winship of that
place Mr Dennis inserts an ad in
the Democrat this week calling your
attention to his business He is a
workman of the first class and as his

Dr C V Holsclaw of Valentine
Nebr has formed a partnership with
H Green under the firm name ofH
Green Co and has opened a drug
store at Merriman Nebr purchasing
a complete stock of A W Hallam
with the Richardson Drug Company
Dr Holsclaw came to Omaha and
made a personal selection and bought
as complete a line asxan be found in
any of the towns along the Elkhorn
outside of the larger cities He will
also continue his practice at Valen
tine spending two or three days
each week at Merriman
NOTICE
